Se siete anche soltanto minimamente esperti di videogiochi, saprete tuttavia che il titolo più giocato e apprezzato di questa casa è Simcity, che ha visto una prima travolgente apparizione molti anni fa con vista bidimensionale dall'alto e che è stato rinnovato (graficamente e nella giocabilità) con lo splendido Simcity 2000 uscito nel 1993
Un annetto fa, Sim Copter aveva offerto una possibilità stranissima: volare con un elicottero sopra le città costruite con Sim City 2000, e svolgere una serie di missioni volte al benessere cittadino, come ad esempio mantenere l'ordine e portare soccorsi
oppure potete utilizzare una delle città create da voi con Simcity 2000
Il passaggio dalle mappe di Simcity 2000, a una visione tridimensionale, comporta anche cose simpatiche come il fatto che si possono creare rampe e salti con un opportuno uso del terreno rialzato..
Le modifiche saranno visibili sia in Simcity 2000 che in Streets: veramente simpatico
Insomma, un gioco con molte opzioni carine, reso ancora più piacevole dal tono scanzonato e ironico (qui i pedoni non si possono stirare fra spruzzi di sangue come nel cupo, anche se altrettanto svitato, Carmageddon!): chi ama Simcity 2000 lo considererà un modo nuovo per vivere virtualmente nelle proprie città, ma anche chi non ama quel classico gioco gestionale si potrebbe divertire con Streets

SimCity 3000 Unlimited approda così sul sistema operativo Linux con grande allegria, cercando di ripetere le gloriose gesta del suo predecessore: SimCity 2000
Rispetto a SimCity 2000 ci sono molte cose in più da gestire: si va dai rifiuti, alla rete idrica, da una corretta realizzazione del piano regolatore (un'acciaieria pesante in prossimità di un quartiere residenziale non è una grande idea) a un adeguata ripartizione dei soldi pubblici per le varie strutture (polizia, pompieri, sanità, istruzione e trasporto pubblico)
Uno dei difetti principali di SimCity 2000 riguardava la monotonia del gioco in sè: dopo un certo periodo di tempo ci si stancava e non c'era più alcuna cosa interessante da fare
Così com'è, raggiungere il limite massimo di dimensione della città è soltanto una questione di tempo, non di altro: SimCity 2000 era certamente più difficile
Il gioco è consigliato ovviamente a tutti gli appassionati di SimCity 2000 che ora possono utilizzare le loro vecchie città anche in questo titolo (purtroppo con qualche limitazione)

Maxis continued to evolve SimCity with SimCity 2000 , which was a huge jump from the original game, and has recently released the next evolution, SimCity 3000
What gamers received in the end are all the best elements from SimCity 2000 plus a more detailed economic system, traffic system, pollution system, etc
Visually, the landscapes in SimCity 3000 are quite similar to those that were in SimCity 2000 , albeit much larger and more defined
This is a welcomed improvement from SimCity 2000 , which had numerous pipes you had to keep connected
The infrastructure of SimCity has only evolved slightly since SimCity 2000 , which I found disappointing
While many were brought over from SimCity 2000 , there is a lack of any real innovation later in this game
